CASALI Recruitment Ltd are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join one of our local engineering clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various manual machining equipment to produce high-quality components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. The Manual Machinist will play a crucial role in ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

* Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment to manufacture parts according to specifications.

* Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to determine machining processes and tooling requirements.

* Assemble components and perform necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit and function.

* Conduct regular maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance.

* Utilise basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during the machining process.

* Grind, weld, and perform finishing operations on machined parts as required.

* Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production efficiency.

* Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Skills

* Proficiency in using CAD software for design interpretation (SolidWorks experience is advantageous).

* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools effectively.

* Familiarity with tooling techniques and processes relevant to manual machining.

* Ability to perform basic maths calculations related to measurements and tolerances.

* Experience in grinding, welding, and plastics injection moulding is desirable but not essential.

* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
