Role: Industrial Mechanical Fitter

Location: Norfolk

*

Rate: £30- 32 per hour

*

Duration: Long-term contract ( 24 months+)

*

Start: Immediate or ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

*

*

National Grid mechanical fitters are required to install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment related to the transmission and distribution of energy. This includes working with high-voltage equipment like circuit breakers and transformersInstallation, maintenance, and overhaul of mechanical plant and equipment

*

Working with pumps, pipework, valves, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, etc.

*

Precision fitting, alignment, and mechanical assembly

*

Reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and schematics

*

Assisting with commissioning and breakdown support as required

*

Ensuring all work is carried out to high safety and quality standards

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in heavy/industrial sectors (manufacturing, power, food, water, chemical, etc.)

*

Experience working on live 400kv station

*

Previosu NG experience

*

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Fitting

*

Skilled in using a wide range of hand and power tools

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

*

Good understanding of HSE practices and risk assessments

Essential qualifications :

CSCS

*

IPAF for operating MEWP

*
