A highly respected and forward-thinking secondary school in Reading is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Second in Department for Physics to support the leadership of their high-performing Science faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physics teacher ready to step into leadership or a current middle leader looking to broaden their impact.

Your Role

Support the Head of Science in curriculum leadership, assessment design, and staff development within the Physics team

*

Teach Physics across Key Stages 3 to 5, including A-Level, using a mix of theoretical and practical teaching strategies

*

Help drive improvements in student progress and outcomes through mentoring, CPD, and targeted intervention

*

Coordinate enrichment such as robotics challenges, engineering partnerships, and physics Olympiad coaching

*

Take a lead role in resource management and lab safety, working closely with technical staff

A qualified Physics teacher with strong subject knowledge and experience across the secondary age range

Passionate about making Physics accessible, challenging, and inspiring for all learners

Experienced in mentoring or supporting colleagues and keen to develop leadership skills further

Skilled at using data to inform teaching and raise achievement
