About the SettingWe are working with a supported living provision in Bournemouth that provides a safe and structured environment for young people aged 16–18. The setting supports individuals with additional needs, including autism and ADHD, helping them develop independence and essential life skills. All young people are largely independent, and no personal care is required.
About the RoleThis is a rewarding opportunity for a Support Worker to help young people transition into independent living. You will play a key role in building confidence, promoting life skills, and offering guidance tailored to each individual’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support young people with daily living skills such as cooking, shopping, and maintaining their living space
- Encourage independence and build confidence in managing day-to-day responsibilities
- Accompany young people to activities and appointments
- Support with job applications, CV writing, and preparation for employment
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people
- Provide varying levels of support depending on individual needs
Working Hours
- 2 x 24-hour shifts per week
- Shift pattern: 9:00am – 9:00am
- Active working hours: 9:00am – 11:00pm and 7:00am – 9:00am
- Sleep-in: 11:00pm – 7:00am (paid if woken to provide support)
- Flexible rota options available, including set shifts or rolling rota
About You
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children or young people (any setting)
- No SEN experience required, but a willingness to learn is essential
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and awareness
- Ability to build meaningful relationships and communicate effectively
- Reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting young people
- Able to work the shift pattern outlined above
