Are you looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school setting? Progress Teachers are working to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisor to support pupils in a mainstream Leicester secondary school from August 2025.

Responsibilities:

* Leading the Classroom: Supervise students in the absence of a teacher, keeping lessons on track and maintaining a positive learning environment.

* Following Plans: Deliver lessons using materials and guidance provided by teaching staff, ensuring students stay engaged and supported.

* Encouraging Good Behaviour: Promote positive conduct in line with the school's behaviour policies.

* Supporting Learners: Offer assistance to individuals or small groups to help them access and understand lesson content.

* Team Communication: Share any relevant updates about pupil progress, concerns or incidents with school staff.

* Admin Duties: Take the register, record attendance, and complete basic reporting tasks as needed.

* Ongoing Development: Take part in school-led or external CPD to build your confidence and skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

* A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

* Previous experience working in an educational setting is highly desirable.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

* Flexibility and adaptability to work in different subject areas.

* Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
