Sliding Head Operator - Setter, Operator & Programmer (Citizen Lathes)

Location: Essex Pay Rate: £18-£20 per hour + Overtime (1.5x) Hours: Monday-Thursday: 7am-4pm, Friday: 7am-12pm (Overtime available: 1-2 hours per day) Holidays: 5 weeks paid holiday

Hudson Shribman is seeking a skilled Sliding Head Operator to join a precision engineering firm supplying high-spec components to aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors. You'll be working on Citizen sliding head lathes, known for their high-speed, multi-axis capabilities and Fanuc control systems, producing small to medium batch components with tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

Set, operate, and program Citizen CNC sliding head lathes (Fanuc controls)

Read and interpret complex engineering drawings

Make in-process adjustments to maintain precision and quality

Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues

Collaborate with QC and support teams to ensure production standards

Experience with STAR sliding head machines is a bonus
