About the School:Our main site is located in the Maidstone area; we have another site in Snodland. Our specialist SEN school provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children and young people with additional educational needs. The Functional Learning Approach is based at two sites, our Snodland site and our Oxford Rd site. The Formal Learning Approach secondary classes are based at our Snodland satellites. Each site has bespoke facilities for our pupils. We have a satellite provision at Palace Wood Primary School, with pupils in a KS1 and a KS2 class. 

The Role:We are seeking a full-time EYFS Teacher to join our committed team. This is a long-term temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will work during standard school hours, delivering a broad and engaging curriculum adapted to meet the individual needs of our pupils.

We have over 800 pupils who represent a wide range of additional educational needs within the profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, complex needs, challenging behaviour, sensory impairments and autistic spectrum. We cover an age range of 2 – 19 years and the school is currently organised in six learning approaches – Early Years, Practical, Sensory, Formal, Structured and Functional.  All of our pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that support both academic and emotional development.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external agencies.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or substantial experience in a similar SEN teaching role.
  • Proven experience working with children with SEN.
  • A clear Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential).
  • Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate, adaptable approach.
