This KS2 SEN Teacher opportunity would suit an experienced teacher or nurture practitioner who is passionate about supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs to re-engage with education, build emotional resilience, and achieve both academically and personally.
The Role - KS2 SEN Teacher (Stevenage)
As a KS2 SEN Teacher, you will:
- Deliver high-quality, nurture-based teaching to small groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Support pupils with SEMH needs, focusing on emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Consistently apply trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches
- Plan and deliver personalised learning in line with individual EHCP outcomes
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, therapists, and external professionals
- Create a calm, structured, and predictable classroom environment where pupils feel safe and valued
- You will play a pivotal role in developing strong, trusting relationships that help pupils grow in confidence, self-regulation, and enthusiasm for learning.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold QTS or QTLS (desirable), or have substantial experience within an SEN/SEMH setting
- Have proven experience supporting KS2 pupils with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs
- Demonstrate resilience, patience, and consistency
- Be skilled in building positive, restorative relationships in the Education and Training Sector
- Be able to commute to Stevenage
- Be committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
- Show enthusiasm for continued professional development
