Your key responsibilities:

Focussing on distinct practice areas, our client team work hand-in-glove with Linklaters partners and practice groups, matching high-quality Re:link consultants to where our clients (both internal within Linklaters and external) need them most.

The role reports to the Senior Client Development Manager who has overall responsibility for the client team and has line management responsibility. The banking and capital markets desk is one of three, which work together to comprise a single joined up global team. You can expect to pick up work from the other desks as needed given business demands.

The role is externally client-facing, and you will operate as a senior member of the client team, working with the Firm's banking and capital markets clients, principally at General Counsel or Head of Legal level. The Client Manager is responsible for:

  • the day-to-day execution of new client opportunities and their end-to-end management which includes both the sales process and the on-assignment relationship management, ensuring that both client and Re:link consultant benefit from exceptional service and that all assignments are managed efficiently from an operational and financial perspective.

  • setting and working towards individual and team sales targets with support from the wider Re:link team, driving and growing revenue and profit.

  • take financial ownership for your desk which includes engaging and negotiating financials with clients and other senior stakeholders, determining pricing and securing commitment from partners and business teams.

  • the day-to-day relationship management of current placements, which includes regular and proactive engagement with the client, the Re:link consultant and the sponsoring Linklaters practice group ensuring expectations are met and any issues are resolved promptly.

  • driving new client opportunities for their Desk, working closely with the Senior Client Development Manager. To achieve this, the Client Manager will be expected to build strong relationships with practice groups aligned with their Desk and clients, as well as other key stakeholders within the firm, and to implement a schedule of business development activity to achieve this.

  • Line management of a Client Advisor, including their performance and oversight of their day-to-day responsibilities, and from a longer-term developmental perspective.

  • Cross-sells wider MO capabilities to clients and internal stakeholders in alignment with the MO strategy.

Ideally you will ideally have/be:

  • a genuine interest in and/or strong understanding of the legal areas (finance, capital markets, regulation, and funds) you will be supporting.

  • experience in a comparable role in a flexible legal resourcing and/or alternative legal services platform.

  • experience working in a law firm or partnership setting is valued.

  • experience in managing accounts and cross selling other alternative legal service offerings valued.

  • strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • a committed, collaborative team player, with the willingness and enthusiasm to help the wider Re:link team embodying the one team approach.

  • natural rapport with people, confident and articulate and comfortable dealing with senior clients and stakeholders.
