Role - Payroll Advisor 

Location - Nottingham (NG2 1AW) - 60% on site 

Type - Part time - 22.5 hours per week - 12 month FTC until March 2027

Salary - £32,199 FTE

We are currently partnering with a large, complex organisation undergoing continued transformation within its People Services function, and are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Services Advisor to support the delivery of a high-quality outsourced payroll service.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a structured, process-driven environment and enjoys working collaboratively to improve payroll operations.

The Role:

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and a third-party payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery, while acting as a key point of contact for payroll queries and escalations. This role combines hands-on payroll administration with process improvement and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support outsourced payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and service quality
  • Act as an escalation point for payroll-related queries, providing clear guidance
  • Complete payroll reconciliations, including statutory payments and third-party deductions
  • Monitor payroll submissions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Support pay cycles, pensions interfaces, and payroll-related projects
  • Maintain payroll documentation, processes, and training materials

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with payroll in a HR or client-facing environment (ideally within a large organisation)
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to interpret and explain payroll processes clearly to non-specialists
  • Confident using Excel and general MS Office tools
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage workload independently

Desirable:

  • Payroll qualification (or working towards)
  • Experience with outsourced payroll models or HR/payroll systems
  • Exposure to payroll reconciliation and reporting processes

Additional Info:

  • Part-time position (approx. 22.5 hours per week)
  • Hybrid working model with regular on-site presence required
  • Occasional flexibility needed during peak periods or system changes
