Escape the Corporate Treadmill - Be the Vet You Trained to Be. £35k - £75k DOE. Yarm, North Yorkshire

Tired of corporate targets and conveyor belt consults?

You didn't become a vet to spend less time with the patient, did you?

Join a thriving, independent small animal and exotics practice in the beautiful North East and rediscover why you became a vet in the first place.

They are celebrating 30 years of looking after animals and people, with their 3-site practice (1 hospital and 2 branches), with 8 vets, 13 nurses, and a truly supportive team. Their values are simple: look after the animals, and everything else follows.

They don't want you to upsell anything; they want you to do great vet work and build trust with clients and each other. Clients love what they do, check out their 5 reviews on Google, over 250 of them.

The Role

* Salary £35- £75k depending on experience

* 38 hours/week (4 full days, fixed weekday off, and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings)

* Full days are 8-6, 9-7 or 8:30-6:30 depending on site

* No out-of-hours

* 6.6 weeks holiday including Bank Holidays

* Part-time options available

* CPD budget is uncapped, including to certificate level

* RCVS and VDS fees paid

* Visa sponsorship support offered

* Start date: ASAP or when the right person is ready

You'll see a mix of consults and surgery, primarily small animals, with an option of some exotic cases if that's your thing. They prioritise continuity of care and give you the time and support to work cases up properly.

Clinical freedom is encouraged, and there's always someone to bounce ideas off. Most days they have at least four vets on site, new grads are never expected to fly solo.

They are ideally looking for a vet with 5-10+ years' experience and an interest in leadership or mentoring, but they are also open to newer grads for a second role. Either way, the most important thing is that you genuinely care, not just about the animals, but about the people too.

This place has a real 'family feel,' about it where everyone pulls together when there's work, and relaxes when it's time. Without the shackles of a large vet group, decisions can be made quickly, and ideas are encouraged.

What they are looking for:

* Strong communication and empathy.

* Confidence managing your own cases.

* A team player who wants to grow.

* Someone who understands that animal welfare is built on client relationships.

Based near Yarm, a lovely market town with great restaurants, pubs, riverside walks, and easy access to beaches, moors, and national parks. Housing is some of the most affordable in the country, and the East Coast Mainline is just around the corner.
