About the Role

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Secondary Supply Teachers to support schools across Durham. This opportunity is ideal for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are looking to gain further classroom experience while enjoying flexible working arrangements.

As a supply teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3-5 within your subject specialism, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure students stay focused and motivated throughout the day. Working across a variety of schools-from large academies to smaller community settings-will allow you to broaden your experience and find the environment that suits you best.

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • Previous experience teaching in UK secondary schools

  • Two professional references covering the last two years

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills

  • A genuine passion for teaching and supporting young people

  • Flexibility, reliability, and confidence working in different school environments
