Housing Strategy and Development Lead, Wokingham  Pay rate up to £450 per day Contract role, Local Government Housing  We are recruiting for an experienced  interim Housing Strategy and Affordable Housing Development Lead.  Key outcomes:

• Lead the development of a co-produced Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy and take through the democratic process for adoption.  

• Lead the development of a co-produced Specialist Housing Strategy and associated Specialist Housing Supplementary Planning Document and take through the democratic process for adoption. Provide expert advice on affordable housing within planning consultations, discussions with developers, RPs and other key stakeholders such as Homes England.  

• Be able to justify affordable housing policies (in relation to planning) to planning inspectors via appeals, inquiries etc.  

• Needs someone with expert research, evaluation and analysis skills.  

• Ability to work collaboratively to motivate and engage colleagues including senior officers, elected members and partners.  

• Ability to present effectively to communicate key information.
