The Role

As an Assistant Planner, you will support senior team members across a wide range of planning activities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and work on diverse projects while developing your expertise in the planning profession.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
  • Assisting with planning potential and viability appraisals
  • Contributing to S106 and affordable housing negotiations
  • Supporting the delivery of CIL assessments and pre-application advice
  • Engaging in site promotion and planning policy representations
  • Assisting with public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities

About You

We're looking for a proactive and motivated graduate who is keen to begin or develop their career in town planning.

Essential:

  • An RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative attitude and the ability to work independently when required
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a planning-related role (e.g., through internships or placements)
