ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER - WATER INDUSTRY

Location: South East England
Contract Type: Permanent or Freelance / Contract
Salary/Rate: Competitive salary (£50,000 - £55,000) or day rate (DOE)

GRS are seeking a skilled Electrical Project Engineer to work on high-value MEICA water projects across the South East. You'll join a Tier 1 contractor delivering key infrastructure upgrades for UK water authorities under major capital delivery programmes (e.g. AMP8).

Responsibilities:

Manage electrical installation works across water treatment and pumping station projects

*

Coordinate electrical designs, site works, panel builds, cable schedules, and subcontractors

*

Ensure electrical scopes are delivered on time, to specification, and within budget

*

Interface with mechanical and ICA teams to ensure integrated MEICA delivery

*

Attend site inspections, FATs, commissioning activities, and project handover stages

Requirements:

*

Electrical engineering background with experience in water or wastewater environments

*

Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, MCCs, control panels, instrumentation, and cable installations

*

Familiarity with electrical standards such as BS7671, WIMES, and water industry specifications

*

Comfortable working on-site and coordinating between design and delivery teams

*

Experience working under NEC contracts and within Tier 1 project delivery environments preferred

*

SMSTS/CSCS and water hygiene desirable
