The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement high-quality, child-centred lessons that build upon pupils' EYFS learning and ensure smooth transition into Key Stage 1.

*

Utilise formative and summative assessment tools effectively to track attainment and progress, adapting teaching accordingly.

*

Foster an emotionally safe and engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and resilience.

*

Collaborate with year group partners and subject leads to deliver a coherent and enriching curriculum experience.

*

Maintain close communication with families, providing regular updates and strategies to support learning at home.

*

Take an active role in whole-school initiatives and enrichment opportunities that enhance the pupil experience and promote school values.

Person Specification:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.

*

Sound knowledge and understanding of Key Stage 1 pedagogy, particularly the developmental needs of Year 1 pupils.

*

A proven record of securing good or better progress in a KS1 classroom or during teaching practice (for ECTs).

*

Ability to plan creatively, considering pupils' prior learning, interests, and next steps.

*

Strong behaviour management skills rooted in respect, positivity, and inclusion.

*

Effective communicator with an open, reflective, and team-oriented mindset.

*

A willingness to engage with wider school life and contribute positively to the school's development journey.
