My client is a specialist flood risk, drainage, and water management consultancy firm who complete varied flood risk management projects across the UK. They have an outstanding reputation, developed over 25 years providing specialist consultancy services. The team operate nationally, with all staff working remotely across England, North Wales and Northern Ireland.

My client works for a variety of clients, including property developers, investors, insurance companies, renewable energy companies, private sector clients (for industrial and commercial builds), house-builders, planning consultants, Local Authorities and Architects.

This exciting opportunity is for an experienced Hydraulic Modeller to join an expanding team on a remote basis. This is a permanent role.

The role will include;

-Scoping technical work,

-Preparing fee proposals, survey specifications and liaising with contractors.

-Developing hydraulic models to assess flood risk using flood modeller and Tuflow.

-Model Build, reviewing and developing hydraulic models.

-Estimating model inflows using hydrological flood estimation methods

-Undertaking site visits to ensure that a hydraulic model appropriately represents the site.

-Flood mitigation.

-Flood risk assessments.

-Engage with clients to discuss the planning application process

-Preparing hydrological and hydraulic modelling reports

-Training and mentoring staff, providing support when needed.

-Promoting the services of the company.

As a Hydraulic Modeller you will be required to have an academic background in Geography, Hydrology or Engineering and have experience working for a UK based Consultancy managing staff and have experience writing flood risk assessments and hydraulic modelling and model build using Tuflow and Flood Modeller.

It is beneficial for applicants to have experience of hydrological flood estimation methods (WINFAP and ReFH2) and be a competent user of GIS.

You may be based anywhere in the UK. Hybrid working is an option for a candidate based in North Wales or Northern Ireland.

Candidate are also required to have a full UK driving license to attend site meetings, when needed.
