Are you a proactive, customer-focused individual looking to join a busy branch environment where no two days are the same? We’re looking for a Trade Counter / Warehouse Operative to join a friendly, hardworking team and play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, accurate order processing, and smooth warehouse operations.

The hourly rate will increase to £12.71ph in April 2026

What You’ll Be Doing

• Serving customers at the trade counter, offering product advice and exceptional service
• Keeping up-to-date with product ranges, promotions, and training to confidently support customers
• Processing, picking, and packing customer orders accurately and on time
• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles and safely handling stock (including some heavy lifting)
• Preparing and maintaining a clean, organised, and fully stocked trade counter and customer area
• Managing incoming deliveries and ensuring stock is stored correctly
• Handling customer queries, orders, and complaints effectively
• Raising quotations and following up to secure orders
• Sourcing non-stock items from other branches or purchasing teams
• Keeping stock levels accurate and participating in stock takes
• Processing returns, warranty items, and working with the in-house Returns Team
• Maintaining all branch administration, including filing and Health & Safety records
• Ensuring the workplace is always safe, clean, and compliant with PPE and manual handling regulations

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a trade counter, warehouse, or similar customer-facing role
• Strong communication skills and an excellent telephone manner
• Ability to multi-task—picking/packing orders, handling calls, and managing emails simultaneously
• Reliable, professional, and customer-focused approach
• Able to work well under pressure and to deadlines
• Team player who can also use initiative to work independently
• Comfortable with manual handling (training & PPE provided)

This is initially a temporary opportunity that could present a long term role for the right candidate.
