OR Group Ltd is a fast-growing, family-run plant machinery services company based in Goring, Reading. We deliver statutory inspections, diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and machinery sales to clients across construction, manufacturing, recycling, logistics, and industrial sectors nationwide.

We're building a reputation for doing things properly — high standards, professional engineers, and strong customer relationships. As we continue to expand, we are looking to bring in an experienced Engineer Surveyor who can play a key role in supporting our growth and maintaining our high standards.

The Role

This is a field-based role focused on carrying out statutory inspections across a wide range of plant and industrial equipment.

We are specifically looking for someone who is already experienced in inspection work and confident operating independently. You will be responsible for carrying out thorough examinations and ensuring full compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR regulations.

You will act as a trusted representative of the business on-site, expected to deliver a professional, knowledgeable, and reliable service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out statutory inspections in line with LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR regulations

Independently assess plant and industrial equipment for safety, compliance, and condition

Identify defects, risks, and non-compliance, providing clear and practical recommendations

Produce accurate, detailed inspection reports and compliance documentation

Liaise professionally with customers, confidently explaining findings and requirements

Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism at all times

Support the development of inspection processes and standards within the business

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced, competent Engineer Surveyor who takes ownership of their work and understands the importance of compliance, safety, and professional standards.

Essential:

* Proven experience carrying out LOLER, PUWER, and/or PSSR inspections

* Strong background in plant machinery, access equipment, lifting equipment, forklifts, HGV, or similar

* Solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

* Confident working independently and managing your own inspections

* Experience producing formal inspection reports and compliance documentation

* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant, Engineering, or similar

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

You'll stand out if you:

* Hold recognised inspection qualifications or accreditations

* Have experience working for a recognised inspection body or similar environment

* Take a proactive, detail-driven approach to compliance and safety

* Are confident representing a business and building relationships with customers

What We Offer

* Competitive salary

* Ongoing training and development

* Opportunity to further develop specialist inspection qualifications

* Potential for private healthcare (role dependent)

* Real progression opportunities as the company grows

Why Join OR Group?

We're not a corporate inspection body — you won't be restricted to a rigid structure or treated like a number.

You'll have the opportunity to work closely with leadership, influence how we develop our inspection offering, and be part of building something long-term. For the right person, this role offers genuine progression — whether that's senior surveyor responsibility, technical leadership, or helping shape a growing inspection division.
