Broadcasting Audio Technician
The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking an Audio Technician for Production Operations team at our Headquarters office in Springfield, VA. MBN is a non-profit grantee of the federal government that directly communicates with the people of the Middle East and North Africa through television, radio, and digital media. MBN's mission is to provide objective, accurate, and relevant news and information to the people of the Middle East about the region, the world, and the United States in support of U.S. public diplomacy.
The Audio Technician is responsible for mixing audio in live and recorded productions for an international audience.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Audio Technician include, but are not limited to:
Setting up microphones, mixing and monitoring the quality control of audio sources for live and taped productions.
Working closely with Directors and Producers to develop audio schemes for all current and new productions.
Supporting various audio assignments including news, magazine and sports style shows.
Candidates are required to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Video/Film Production or related field. Professional experience in lieu of education will be considered.
Proficiency with computers.
A minimum of 3 years in an active live news or production operation(s).
Demonstrated audio production skills.
Ability to perform well in a deadline driven, live television environment.
Demonstrated proficiency on a variety of control room audio equipment: Wheatstone, Lawa, SSL preferred.
Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work independently.
A commitment to excellence and to ongoing education in video production and to the mastery of their craft.
Ability to support a 24/7 environment ,including overnights and weekends.
