Financial Controller | York | £70,000 + Car allowance

This is a number one role on-site for a £60m turnover business, part of a highly acquisitive, PE-backed group. You'll report into the Group FD and take ownership of the finance function locally, with a clear brief around tightening processes, improving reporting, and getting the business ready for its next phase of growth.

The business operates across multiple sites, so there's a good level of complexity without it being unwieldy. There's also a system change planned for the back end of summer, alongside a wider push on automation and data visibility.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading the finance function on-site, managing the transactional team
• Owning and improving the month-end process - faster, cleaner, more insightful
• Driving process improvement and automation across finance
• Supporting integration into the wider group structure
• Delivering PE reporting and working closely with the Group FD
• Getting into the detail on performance, using data to spot areas to improve

What they're looking for:

• A proven Financial Controller who's comfortable being the number one on-site
• Experience in multi-site environments would help
• Someone who understands what "good" looks like in a well-run finance function
• Strong on process, controls, and continuous improvement
• Comfortable working in a PE-backed or fast-moving environment
• Happy being predominantly office-based (more so during the initial period)
