Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our Wales based client to recruit for a Buyer.

Purpose of role:

You will be responsible for the procurement of components and materials to ensure production targets are met. You will be maintaining relationships with new and existing suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Take an active role in developing the supply chain strategy and approach.
Deliver on savings targets.
Manage supply chain risks, both in terms of material availability and cost.
Develop, lead, and manage the procurement process for specific areas of spend
Manage the supply chain to ensure the continued sustainability of procurement sources
Supplier selection and negotiations including terms and conditions.Skills and Experience required:

Minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant Supply Chain role procuring and optimising direct technical material spend and indirect spend
Excellent sourcing skills.
Experience in the Supplier Relationship Management process with a clear understanding of the negotiation process
Experience of implementing category plans
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent MS Office skills particularly Excel
Hands-on' mentality, self-starter, resilient and tenacious under pressure
Good organisational and time management skills
