This is an incredible opportunity to join my client, an industry-leading, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy renowned for lending their expertise to an array of projects across the energy and engineering landscapes. They are actively seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Principal Civil Engineer, with a strong background in drainage and highways design, to join an already-established team of Water Engineers at the office based in the vibrant, culturally-rich city of Manchester.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

Manage the completion and submission of complex technical work for a diverse array of projects across the Water Sector
Produce, check, amend, and submit reports, calculations, and other technical documents
Manage a number of design projects, taking ownership at all stages, from initial inception through to successful delivery
Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clientele and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, for yourself and other members of the team
Provide supervision and support to other colleagues, mentoring them and overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Proactively promote company processes, procedures, and regulations, acting as a trusted representative of the business
Uphold industry standards, including health and safety regulations, at all times

Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
Possess Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE)
Extensive experience of working in a design-based role in a UK-based consultancy or Local Authority Setting
Considerable experience of producing drainage strategies and systems, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
Demonstrable experience of working on other infrastructure projects and highways designs
Experience of managing teams of design-based colleagues, as well as projects
Outstanding working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (to include S104, S106, S38, S278)
Proficient in the use of relevant software systems, including Civils 3D, Revit, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, etc.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, and Hades software packages
An awareness of BS 7671 standards
