The Hiring Heroes are currently looking for a Production Manager to join an expanding manufacturing business based in Keighley.
They are known for their high end and reliable products as well as excellent customer service.
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT A CANDIDATE WITH SENIOR SUPERVISOR EXPERIENCE WANTING TO TAKE THEIR NEXT STEP IN MANAGEMENT.
The Job
* Managing production across shift teams and overseeing the staff and supervisors ensuring safety is always the first consideration.
* To implement the manufacturing unit production plan and monitor the achievement of production targets.
* Slowly move around each aspect of production, including learning the colour process and the calculations involved
* To maintain accurate systems for raw materials stock control usage, carry out appropriate stock counts, at all times ensuring the availability of equipment and materials to enable production schedules to be achieved.
* To work with the Operations Directors in order to develop, implement and monitor agreed targets for productivity, uptime, downtime, OEE and quality are met .
* To ensure all waste from manufacturing activities is kept within levels and the current legal regulations are complied with at all times.
* To provide a positive hands on approach to management, whilst always leading the shift teams by setting a positive example.
* To undertake operational duties as required meeting deadlines and/or covering for staff absence, filling gaps in resources in all areas when required.
* To ensure all production equipment is operated correctly during shifts and any breakdowns are dealt with and reported appropriately so that the operation is always fully productive.
* To ensure a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring all work activities are carried out in a safe manner and comply with your responsibilities under the company Health and Safety Policy, whilst ensuring all safe systems of work are always followed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and the relevant Risk Assessments.
* To develop the shift teams in order to maximise their performance including coaching, identifying new ways of working and determining training and development needs.
* To carry out safety inductions and probation reviews on new starters along with annual reviews of all staff under your supervision.
* ·To make sure all COSHH regulations and responsibilities are followed relating to all substances and materials that are used in the manufacturing facility.
The candidate :-
· Previous textile and/or supervisory experience (desirable)
· Right to work in the UK
· GCSE grades 4/C or above in maths and English (or equivalent)
· Good mathematical background to understand the calculations is desirable
· Ability to prioritise
· The ability to follow the health and safety guidelines
