We are a well-established and growing accountancy and payroll provider, supporting a diverse portfolio of businesses across a range of sectors. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, professional financial and payroll services, while building long-term relationships with our clients.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Senior Accountant to join our Lancaster-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained accountant who is looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing client accounts, reviewing work completed by junior team members, and ensuring the accurate preparation and finalisation of accounts.

• Prepare and review final sets of statutory accounts for a varied client portfolio
• Review accounts prepared by junior accountants and provide constructive feedback
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide financial guidance
• Support the preparation and review of corporation tax returns
• Assist with management accounts and year-end reporting
• Work closely with payroll and wider accountancy teams to deliver a seamless client service
• Mentor and support junior members of the team

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice (this is essential)
• A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
• Proven experience reviewing and signing off final sets of accounts
• Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and compliance requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
