The Role:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Classroom Support Assistants to join our team and work in vibrant primary schools across Leeds. In this rewarding role, you will be instrumental in creating a positive and effective learning environment. You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

  • Assisting the teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons and helping to prepare classroom resources and learning materials.

  • Fostering an inclusive classroom environment and promoting positive behaviour through effective management techniques.

  • Supporting students with their social and emotional development, including those with SEMH needs or requiring sensory support.

  • Adapting learning materials to suit the needs of individual children and assisting with assessments.

  • Collaborating effectively with teachers, SENCos, and other professionals to support student progress and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs/EHCPs).

About You:

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting is highly desirable.

  • Qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate are advantageous.

  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping all students succeed.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

  • A calm, patient, and resilient demeanour, with the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.

  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for a new one is essential.
