Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our client on a 12-month maternity cover contract. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will support day-to-day transactional accounting activities as well as assist with month-end processes and the preparation of financial and management accounts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting experience within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Transactional Accounting
- Manage the Sales Ledger, including raising invoices, allocating payments, and credit control support
- Maintain the Purchase Ledger, processing supplier invoices, reconciling statements, and preparing payment runs
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly
- Assist with expense processing and corporate credit card reconciliations
Month-End & Management Reporting
- Support the Financial Controller with month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial and management accounts
- Update key financial schedules and perform variance analysis
- Provide additional administrative and analytical support to the finance team as required
