Role Overview

We are looking for a practical Mechanical Design Engineer with strong hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing mechanical systems. This role suits engineers who enjoy solving real engineering problems, developing prototypes, and working closely with workshops and test environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical systems, machines, and mechanisms.

Build and test prototypes, fixtures, and development assemblies.

Investigate mechanical failures and performance issues and implement improvements.

Work closely with workshops, technicians, and manufacturing teams to develop practical engineering solutions.

Support testing, validation, and continuous improvement of mechanical designs.

What We're Looking For

Experience designing and building mechanical systems, not just individual components.

Strong hands-on engineering background, including prototypes, test rigs, or machinery.

Exposure to manufacturing processes, tooling, or bespoke equipment.

Proven ability to solve practical engineering problems.

Experience using 3D CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks or similar).

Education

A degree is not essential. Candidates with apprenticeship or practical engineering backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply
