SF Recruitment is delighted to be retained by our excellent client based in Stoke-on-Trent in their search for a driven and motivated Finance Manager. This is a key hire into the business and will support the Finance Director to ensure finance in front and centre driving forward business performance. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial results, producing monthly management accounts in a timely manner as well as providing added value business partnering to senior management. The successful Finance Manager will demonstrate an eagerness to drive process improvements, add value beyond the month end routine and provide proactive ways to further support the growth of the business.  

The ideal Finance Manager for this role will have prior experience in a Management Accountant or Finance Manager role and be keen to take the next step in their career. You will ideally by a fully qualified Accountant in ACCA/CIMA/ACA and experience within a distribution or logistics environment would be highly beneficial. 

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting and production of the daily, weekly, and monthly analysis and KPI reports
Preparation of accurate weekly and monthly Management Accounts
Managing, reviewing and creating Accrual calculations, Prepayments, Provisions, while managing general ledger
Balance sheet reconciliations and review
Reconciliation and submission of all HMRC returns (VAT and PAYE/NIC)
Assisting with financial year end and annual audit
Supporting, budgeting process, review meetings with departments
Preparation and review of other key financial reports as required
Assisting the Finance Director with providing financial information to the business and completing ad-hoc financial and business projects
Ad hoc support to the wider business such as IT infrastructure, software/hardware

Skills and Attributes:

Qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Enthusiastic and flexible approach, and able to work on own initiative.
Strong Excel and analytical skills are essential.
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Experience within Distribution a significant advantage
