Mechanical Assembler - Defence Manufacturing

A leading defence manufacturer is looking for an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join their Final Assembly team in a modern, high-tech facility in Stockport.

Key Details:

Permanent position working on specialist military equipment

£19.22 p/h (days) and £25.56 p/h (nights)

Days role, but must be flexible to work occasional night shifts as required

The Role:

Assemble and fit components to precise engineering drawings and tolerances

Use measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, etc.) to inspect parts

Follow written instructions and input job data into SAP

Maintain a clean, professional, and safety-first work environment

Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g. Fitting, Welding, Fabrication)

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths - minimum Grade C

Strong hands-on skills, flexible attitude, and good communication
