About the Opportunity
We are working with a well-established, global engineering and manufacturing organisation that delivers high-performance solutions into critical industrial sectors. Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to appoint a Projects Team Manager to lead and develop their project delivery capability.
This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to oversee a portfolio of complex manufacturing projects while managing and mentoring a team of project managers.
The Role
As Projects Team Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects within a manufacturing environment. You will provide leadership, structure, and strategic direction across the project function, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives.
You will play a central role in driving performance, improving delivery processes, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of project managers and project teams
* Oversee a portfolio of manufacturing and engineering projects
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
* Allocate and manage resources across multiple projects
* Establish and maintain project governance, processes, and best practices
* Monitor project performance, risks, and dependencies
* Provide clear reporting and updates to senior stakeholders
* Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and execution
* Support strategic planning and alignment of project activities with business goals
* Ensure compliance with relevant safety, legal, and regulatory requirements
* Oversee project close-out, including lessons learned and handover
About You
* Proven experience in project or programme management within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment
* Experience leading or mentoring project managers or delivery teams
* Strong understanding of project governance, budgeting, and risk management
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, global business environment
Desirable
* Experience within sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, or heavy industry
* Formal project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP)
* Background in mechanical, process, or industrial engineering
