We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead the finance department of a organically growing organisation based in Deeside.
This role involves managing a team of four accounts professionals, providing strategic insights at the board level, and overseeing all aspects of financial management, including payroll, pensions, and tax submissions.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and mentor a four-person accounts team with a focus on inspirational leadership in a participative management style.
- Engage at a strategic board level to provide commercial insights and analytical support for projects, process changes, and investment appraisals.
- Manage the full preparation and finalisation of management accounts, including robust challenges to management on business performance, variance analysis, and corrective actions.
- Handle bonus and pay rise calculations, monthly payroll, and pension calculations and submissions, addressing any related queries.
- Provide insights into emerging trends in margins and costs, quantifying impacts on profit and loss, and cash flow.
- Develop and utilise key performance indicators and critical success factors to evaluate business performance and support strategic visions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and department heads to complete budgets and forecasts.
- Analyse business propositions and opportunities, supporting from idea to implementation.
- Propose, justify, initiate, and implement changes across the organisation, presenting concise business cases aligned with long-term objectives.
- Manage treasury functions, VAT submissions, and corporation tax.
- Calculate billable rates using overhead absorption costing techniques.
- Oversee broader non-financial business responsibilities such as renewals, company phones, carbon calculations, cyber security, and risk analysis.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial management and leading a finance team.
- Will consider fully qualified or QBE candidates for this role
- Strong analytical skills and experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Proficient in financial software and Excel.
- Knowledge of VAT, corporation tax, and treasury management.
