Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a global manufacturer that is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer in Manchester.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Supplier Quality Engineer will primarily focus on the management of suppliers, solving complex challenging issues and implementing new methodologies to improve quality. 

Our client is looking for someone who is result driven, thrives on focusing on continuous improvements and naturally looks to support the development of themselves and those around them.

Duties of the Supplier Quality Engineer include:

  • Visiting Suppliers and working in partnership with them to improve the cost of poor quality
  • Developing metrics to monitor supplier performance and working with the plant to identify the biggest issues to address
  • The supplier locations are predominantly based in the North-West so there isn’t extensive travel
  • Develop other team members through mentoring and training
  • Active involvement in customer concerns/complaints/queries, driving root cause identification, corrective actions and preventative actions
  • Use problem solving techniques to investigate external and internal issues 
  • Devise methodologies for improving process inspection & verification.
  • Work with the operations team to improve inspection and verification
  • Develop and execute a process audit plan. 
  • Devise process audit format and plan to engage workforce and identify non-conformities.
  • Implement methodologies for establishing the “cost of quality”, scrap, defects, returns, complaints, non-value added activities
  •  identify, track and reduce through structured methodologies. Control quarantine levels. 
  • Conduct vertical audits in the business to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure timely management of internal and external system and product non-conformities. 
  • Support and facilitate continuous improvement activities 
  • Develop and implement significant improvements in department-wide processes, procedures and systems.
  • Support NPI projects by working closely with other departments to ensure successful introduction into production 

We would be keen to speak with Supplier Quality Engineers with the following:

  • Having experience working in both a Supplier Quality and Plant Quality position would be ideal
  • Experience within a quality environment ideally in a related, regulated industry
  • Strong knowledge of quality management techniques and quality system requirements
  • Solid understanding of quality tools like root cause analysis
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work alongside a range of individuals
