Estimator - Construction

Pro Staff Construction are working with a residential developer who is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to strengthen their pre-construction team.

This is a key commercial role, responsible for producing accurate and robust cost plans and tender estimates, supporting margin protection, risk management, and a smooth transition from pre-construction through to delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing order of cost estimates, elemental cost plans and tender submissions

*

Reviewing drawings, specifications and employer's requirements

*

Producing detailed estimates, BOQs and cost checks

*

Analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations for compliance and value

*

Identifying scope gaps, risks, exclusions and non-compliances

*

Supporting value engineering and margin optimisation

*

Preparing risk and opportunity schedules

*

Providing clear commercial handovers from pre-construction to delivery

*

Maintaining accurate and auditable estimating records

Key Requirements

*

Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment

*

Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement and market pricing

*

Experience with cost planning (RIBA Stages 1-3) and tender estimating

*

Strong commercial awareness with a risk-based mindset

*

Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
