Materials Buyer - Main Contractor / Developer Experience NEEDED

Location: Oxford
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + package
Start Date: ASAP (immediate availability preferred)

Our client is urgently seeking an experienced Materials Buyer to join their Oxford-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in main contracting or property development to take ownership of the procurement function within a growing and dynamic business.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials for our construction projects, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Working closely with our project and commercial teams, you'll play a key role in maintaining efficient supply chains and supporting project delivery from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the procurement of materials for multiple live projects.

Negotiate best pricing and terms with suppliers and subcontractors.

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.

Monitor stock levels, deliveries, and logistics.

*

Work closely with site and project teams to ensure smooth operations.

About You

*

Proven experience as a Buyer / Materials Buyer with a main contractor or developer.

*

Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

*

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

*

Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

*

Confident communicator with both internal teams and external suppliers.
