ROLE: Quality EngineerLOCATION:  YorkSALARY £40,000 - £50,000 per annum doeOverview:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our established aerospace and defence organisation in York. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory frameworks, supporting the delivery of safe and reliable products and services.Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and improve quality management systems and processes in line with AS9100, ISO9001, and other applicable standards.
• Conduct internal and supplier audits to verify compliance and drive continuous improvement.
• Support product inspections, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain) to resolve quality issues and promote best practices.
• Analyse quality metrics and performance data, providing reports and recommendations to senior management.
• Review customer and regulatory requirements, ensuring projects meet all specifications.
• Support training initiatives and promote a strong culture of quality throughout the business.

Skills & Experience:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a quality engineering or assurance role within aerospace, defence, or a similarly regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 standards and auditing techniques.
• Proficient in root cause analysis tools (e.g. 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys) and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a methodical and analytical approach.
