Lead Buyer - Construction

We're looking for an experienced Lead Buyer to join a well-established construction business, taking ownership of the procurement process and ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials to support a range of building projects.

What you'll do:

Source and negotiate competitive prices for materials and services
Place and manage purchase orders to meet project timelines
Collaborate with site teams, Quantity Surveyors and suppliers
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues
Review invoices and follow up on any discrepancies or credits
Support tender processes by issuing enquiries and analysing quotes
Manage procurement admin including PPE, mobile contracts and supplies
Contribute to sustainability reporting and ensure environmental standards are met
What we're looking for:

Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within construction
Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills
Commercially aware with good attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Office and procurement systems
Self-motivated, proactive and professional
