Early Years Educator

SALARY: £8.21 - £9.00/hour

Safehands recruitment are looking for an Early Years Educator in Bristol to work with children aged three months to five years of age. This is a full time position working 40 hours per week. The role:

To work with the Team Leader with the daily routine of a room, deployment of staff in room, activities, planning, monitoring and evaluation.
The Early Years Educator is responsible for observing and monitoring children and in the absence of the Team Leader the supervision and deployment of staff in the room.
To be responsible for the care of children, including physical care such as feeding, nappy changing, their welfare, health and dietary requirements, including implementing the medication policy and safeguarding the children in your care.
To assist the Team Leader with the care and maintenance of furniture, toys, equipment and resources. To monitor stock levels of consumables and to request items as may required.
To plan effective individualised learning programmes for key children linked to their next steps.
Make accurate and effective use of assessments. Completing all required assessments within deadlines, plan next steps and co-ordinate activities to shape further learning.
Plan and lead activities, purposeful play opportunities and educational programmes which include the learning and development areas of current early education curriculum requirements.


You must have a minimum of a level 3 qualification in childcare relevant to the early years sector.
You will need to complete an enhanced criminal record disclosure (DBS check).
Experience in a nursery setting is desirable.
All staff who have completed a Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (on or after 30th June 2016) must have a current Pediatric First Aid certificate to be included within staffing ratios. (If they do not have this, this must be fully achieved within 3 months of starting work).
