Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Birmingham

An established, privately owned multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing M&E team.

This business has built a strong reputation for delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure and development schemes across the UK. With a fully integrated approach, they provide innovative, energy-focused building services solutions across sectors including residential, commercial, education, industrial and regeneration.

You'll be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where engineers are given the autonomy to innovate, challenge convention, and play a key role in shaping project outcomes.

The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical and building services designs across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing HVAC, mechanical and public health systems including calculations, drawings and specifications
Producing designs using AutoCAD (Revit experience advantageous)
Undertaking energy modelling using IES software
Delivering Part L compliance, overheating analysis, TM54 and BREEAM assessments (desirable)
Completing SAP calculations and producing EPCs
Supporting projects from concept through to detailed design and technical coordination
Conducting site surveys and reporting on existing systems
Supporting contract administration and monitoring progress during construction
Attending site for witnessing and handover activities
Collaborating with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and robust solutionsAbout You

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or similar)
Strong experience in mechanical design within the built environment
Experience with IES and Revit is advantageous
Working towards or already Chartered
Full UK driving licenceWhat's on Offer
