About this Position:
Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and optimisation of casting and machining processes for turbine blades and vanes. The role is focused on improving process stability, yield, dimensional accuracy and metallurgical conformity, while ensuring readiness for production and compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards.

Job Responsibilities:

*

Develop and optimise casting processes to support stable production, high yield and metallurgical conformity for blades and vanes

*

Validate machining operations by defining cutting parameters, tooling strategies and process controls to achieve consistent dimensional accuracy

*

Lead FAI and process qualification activities, including PFMEA, control plans, capability studies and run-at-rate

*

Troubleshoot casting and machining issues to reduce defects, minimise variation and improve right-first-time performance

*

Work closely with suppliers to resolve process issues and improve manufacturing capability across the supply chain

*

Ensure manufacturing processes comply with aerospace quality, special process and configuration requirements

Experience Required:

*

Strong knowledge of casting and machining processes for turbine blades and vanes

*

Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering and manufacturing drawings

*

Sound knowledge of GD&T, including ASME Y14.5 and JES 161

*

Experience with measurement system analysis, QC tools and SPC

*

Hands-on experience using measuring and testing equipment, including contact and non-contact, analogue and digital systems

*

Ability to support root cause analysis and structured problem solving, including 8D

*

Experience working in cross-functional teams to create PFMEA and control plans

*

Working knowledge of concessions, containment procedures and traceability techniques

*

Experience with FAIR, APQP and PPAP

*

Awareness of aerospace requirements, including AS9100 and relevant ISO standards

*

Strong communication skills in English, with a collaborative, proactive and problem-solving approach
