Streamline Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a well-established logistics company to recruit an experienced Ocean Freight Operator based in Manchester.

This role involves managing large key accounts alongside handling import and export ocean freight shipments. You will oversee the entire shipment process, maintain accurate documentation, and build strong relationships with both clients and suppliers to ensure exceptional service delivery on major contracts.

Key responsibilities:

* Manage full process of ocean freight shipments (FCL & LCL)

* Act as main contact for large key accounts, ensuring service expectations are met and exceeded

* Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, and hauliers to coordinate shipments smoothly

* Prepare and process all relevant shipping documentation including bills of lading, customs entries, and invoices

* Accurately cost and invoice shipments in a timely manner

* Select carriers and services to optimise profitability and service delivery on large contracts

* Proactively resolve any operational issues affecting key accounts

* Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and suppliers

* Identify and develop growth opportunities within existing large accounts

Requirements:

* Proven experience in ocean freight forwarding (import and/or export)

* Demonstrable experience managing key accounts or large contracts.

* Strong knowledge of international shipping documentation and procedures

* High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously

* Knowledge of customs clearance processes and systems such as Destin8 or CNS is advantageous, other FCL Software.
