Semi Senior Accountant - St Albans - Up to £36,000 - Fantastic Working from Home Policy

AJ Chambers are pleased to be working in partnership with a leading medium-sized firm of chartered accountants and business advisors on their requirement for a Semi Senior Accountant to join their team in St Albans.

Our client has one of the best flexible working policies in the local market and are happy for staff to only attend the office 3 days per month (this will depend on client needs too, but they want you to have a healthy work-life balance).

The Firm:

Our client is a modern and dynamic mid-tier accountancy firm, with 8 partners and over 80 staff across 2 offices. They pride themselves on being a friendly and supportive firm and place a huge emphasis on creating an environment where their employees enjoy going to work - even on Mondays!

The Role:

• Carrying out bookkeeping for clients, including processing transactions from documents provided by the client and reconciling control accounts, such as Bank, Sales ledger, Purchase ledger, and VAT.
• Completing client VAT returns, which involves liaising with the client to obtain the necessary information, producing supporting schedules, and ensuring timely submission of the VAT return.
• Preparing monthly or quarterly management accounts tailored to the client's requirements, which may involve using accounting software or spreadsheets.
• Producing statutory accounts, year-end accounts, or rental accounts for different types of entities, including limited companies (including service charge companies), sole traders, and partnerships.
• Attending and actively participating in team and departmental meetings, as well as engaging in training sessions such as seminars and CPD updates as required.
