Skilled Workshop Engineer - Great Opportunity with a Leading Vehicle Manufacturer
Location: Kidderminster, Worcestershire
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 42 hours/week, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
A well-established and growing manufacturer of specialist Refuse Collection Vehicles is looking for a Skilled Workshop Engineer to join their dedicated team in Kidderminster.
About the Role:
You'll be working on the maintenance and repair of refuse vehicle bodywork and equipment, ensuring work is completed to high standards—both in the workshop and occasionally on customer sites.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Mechanical repairs and fault diagnosis
* MIG welding and refurbishment of vehicle bodies
* Assembly/disassembly of body-mounted equipment
* Paperwork and documentation completion
* Adhering to health & safety procedures and using PPE
🔍 Ideal Candidate:
* Background in mechanical engineering (commercial vehicles/plant hire preferred)
* Welding experience required; knowledge of vehicle electrics/hydraulics a plus
* Full UK driving licence essential
* HGV licence/experience desirable
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
