Principal Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

Location: Huntingdon | Hybrid Working

A well-established building services consultancy is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join its team in Huntingdon. This is a senior role offering the opportunity to lead technically challenging projects, mentor engineers, and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the delivery of mechanical building services design across a varied portfolio of projects, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical building services design on multiple projects

Provide technical leadership and quality assurance

Manage project delivery, programmes, and resources

Support and mentor junior and senior engineers

Attend and lead client and design team meetings

Ensure compliance with UK standards and Building Regulations

Requirements

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent)

Extensive experience within a building services consultancy environment

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, public health, and sustainable systems

Proven experience delivering and leading complex projects

Excellent communication and client-facing skills
