Position: Head Of Operations  Location: Newcastle 
Shift: Monday to Friday (Days) 
Salary: £45K to £55k DOE

We're looking for a seasoned operations leader to oversee a large-scale, multi-site transport network. In this role, you'll hold overall responsibility for delivering safe, dependable and fully compliant services across several depots. You'll work closely with depot leadership teams, ensuring high standards are maintained while continuously improving performance and efficiency.

This is a senior, hands-on position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, operationally demanding environment and is confident making sound decisions under pressure.

What You'll Be Responsible For
Taking end-to-end ownership of operations across multiple bus and coach depots

Ensuring services run safely, reliably and in line with regulatory requirements

Leading, supporting and holding Depot Managers accountable for performance

Maintaining high safety standards and embedding a strong compliance culture

Managing incidents, disruption and operational risk effectively

Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and cost control

Producing clear and accurate performance reporting for senior stakeholders

Collaborating with Engineering, Commercial, Finance and HR teams to support overall business objectives

About You
Significant senior leadership experience within transport, logistics or another safety-critical sector

CPC qualified

Experienced in managing large, geographically dispersed teams

Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks

Demonstrated success in improving operational performance

Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets and costs

Calm, decisive and credible leader who can inspire confidence

Comfortable communicating at all levels of the organisation
