We are seeking a dedicated Premises Manager to join our team at a vibrant primary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the school has the most suitable working environment for all staff and pupils, incorporating strategic planning and day-to-day operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Coordinate and organise on-site services and resource requirements to maintain the site to the highest standard.
  • Drive operational excellence across the premises, preparing documents for contract tendering in line with financial procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Security legislation, keeping all necessary records and developing school emergency procedures.
  • Lead and develop the capacity of the on-site premises team, managing appraisals and staffing in light of school development.
  • Manage budgets to ensure value for money and operate within school financial procedures.
  • Oversee the leasing and letting of school facilities, developing systems and staffing to enable this.
  • Develop and maintain an Asset Management system, ensuring comprehensive reporting and regular reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Maths/English GCSE/GCE/O level or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate colleagues at all levels.
  • Substantial experience in contract management.
  • Well-developed influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing work demands and meet conflicting deadlines.
  • Proven administrative and ICT skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the post.
  • Ability to form appropriate relationships with young people.
  • A commitment to the school’s aims, ethos, and policies, including those relating to equalities.
