Head Chef – £34,500 | 40 Hours, across 4 or 5 days per week | Purpose-Built Care Home 

 

Our client is proud to operate a warm, welcoming, and beautifully designed care home dedicated to supporting older adults with a range of needs, including residential and nursing care. Set in a peaceful location and purpose-built to deliver outstanding care, this is a service where the team genuinely values compassion, dignity—and delicious, nutritious meals.

 

They’re now looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead their kitchen team and take pride in delivering freshly prepared, well-balanced meals that truly enhance quality of life.

 

As Head Chef, you’ll lead the kitchen team and oversee all aspects of food production and service. You’ll ensure that every resident’s dietary needs, preferences, and personal tastes are catered for with care, creativity, and attention to detail.

 

What They’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef in a care home or nursing home setting
  • Strong understanding of dietary needs, including allergens and specialist requirements
  • Confident managing kitchen budgets and ordering supplies
  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support your team
  • A passion for cooking and commitment to high standards of care
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 or above)
  • A respectful, inclusive, and positive attitude towards residents and colleagues

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on menu planning tailored to residents’ needs, including specialist diets and allergies
  • Prepare high-quality, fresh meals in line with nutritional and health requirements
  • Manage kitchen budgets and stock control efficiently
  • Train, support and supervise a small kitchen team
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in line with regulatory guidance
  • Work collaboratively with care staff and residents to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and inclusive
