Complex Needs Supported Housing Officer Vacancy
An established charitable organisation is currently looking to recruit a full-time Supported Housing Officerbased in the Watford area on a temporary to permanent basis to support homeless clients with complex needs and substance misuse.
Hours: 37.5 a weekin shift patterns
Shifts: 8-4 or 2-10 and weekends
Duration: 3 months temporary to permanent
Main responsibilities in the role:
- Working with a caseload of service users aged 18-59 within a homeless hostel suffering with complex needs and substance misuse issues
- Deliver emotional and life skills based support, assisting service users with day to day tasks
- Complete support plans and risk assessments with the service users
- Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low level anti-social behaviour and rent arrears
- Offer specialist knowledge and insight into rent arrears helping tenants with budgeting
- Carry out regular estate inspections
- Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements
- Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies
- Manage void properties to ensure the quickest re-let times including carrying out viewings and sign-ups
Essential requirements:
- Must have experience in tenancy sustainment, substance misuse and/or mental health
- An enhanced DBS check from within the last 3 years or willingness to obtain a new one
- Excellent communication skills and basic IT skills are essential
