About The Role:

The Production Technician is responsible for the assembly, testing, and calibration of electro-mechanical combustion management products in line with company quality and safety standards.

The role ensures production targets are achieved while maintaining exceptional build quality, accurate QA documentation, and compliance with health and safety procedures.

Working as a key member of the production team, the Technician contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and supports the delivery of world-class products manufactured onsite at Autoflame Engineering.

Due to the nature of the role and location, it is also essential that candidates hold a full UK driving licence and can reliably commute to Biggin Hill to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble and test products in accordance with Work Instructions, Test Procedures, Quality Standards, Drawings, Work Orders and Good Practice company standards.
Record test and calibration data into QA database.
Understand drawings, technical manuals, and instructions to perform assembly and testing activities.
Recommend improvements or modifications to improve the assembly processes and/or quality of the products.
Keep the workplace clean and tidy in accordance with company 5S standards.
Train and guide other production staff when required.
Carry out work safely with minimising possible hazards and risks.
Operate power and manual tools safely to avoid accidents.
Report any H&S issues or near misses.
Wear provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company uniform as required.
Follow company guidelines, procedures, and policies.Other Key aspects of the role:

Nature of Supervision - The role operates under the general supervision of the Production Manager. Day-to-day tasks are carried out independently in line with production schedules, work instructions, and quality standards.
Communication and Influence - You will communicate regularly with the Production Manager and production team members to coordinate workload, clarify work instructions, and resolve assembly or quality-related issues.
Innovation and Complexity - The role supports the production of technically detailed, high-quality products requiring precision assembly, accurate testing, and compliance with defined quality and safety standards.
Organisational Impact - You will have a direct impact on product quality, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The role contributes to maintaining the company's reputation for high-quality, reliable products and supports on-time delivery performanceIn addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required.

About You:

Education and Experience:

Electro-mechanical assembly experience advantageous
Electronic background and soldering skills or industry qualification beneficial
A technical mindset with an eye for detail are essential for this position.
Ability to be Cross Trained in multiple products
Strong Communication skills with ability to communicate across all levels
Problem solving / Critical Thinking
Able to follow instructions and production schedules, whilst meeting deadlines
Ability to work within the team and use initiative when lone working
Enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude
Computer literate
Ability to travel reliably to Biggin HillBenefits:

Holiday entitlement is 28 days per year (plus all bank holidays will be given and the company closes over Christmas for a minimum of 3 days which are automatically taken from the above so the bookable leave is 25 days. Leave is pro rated in the first year.
