We’re seeking a  Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong engineering mindset and hands-on experience in designing large rotating components. This is a technically demanding role where your ability to apply stress analysis, FMEA methodology, and advanced 3D CAD skills will be central to delivering robust, manufacturable solutions.

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for rotating machinery using NX, Inventor, and AutoCAD

• Produce detailed 3D models and 2D drawings to current manufacturing standards

• Conduct engineering calculations including stress analysis, FEA, and FMEA

• Lead and support new product development and design improvement projects

• Generate technical documentation including material specifications, IOM manuals, and Bills of Materials

• Apply DFMA principles and contribute to cost-effective design through Value Engineering (VAVE)

• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure design integrity and performance

• Support testing, supplier visits, and customer meetings as required

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally involving large rotating parts

• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (NX, Inventor, AutoCAD)

• Solid understanding of stress analysis and FEA tools

• Experience with FMEA and design risk mitigation

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and design for manufacture

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• A proactive, solutions-focused team player with strong communication skills

• Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is essential

• HNC/HND with substantial industry experience may be considered

• IEng registration is desirable but not essential
